I’m very excited to have my first pattern published in Interweave Press Fall 2009 –‘Trellis and Vine Pullover’. I knit this last spring from the most wonderfully soft Alpaca, ‘Alpaca with a Twist Baby Twist‘. This would also be great knit in any yarn with a smooth drapy texture, maybe a silk blend. It’s knit from the top down so it is very easy to add length to any part of the body if you want to, or to the sleeves. There is gentle waist shaping which can also be added to or taken away from as your body needs. I think that 0-2 inches of postive ease would be good with this sweater, on the manequin below it is shown with 0 inches of ease. The neck is shown with one repeat of the lace, but if you wanted a higher turtleneck it can easily ba achieved by working an extra repeat of the lace pattern. Have fun knitting it!
I’ve knit a version of this for myself also in a baby blue Louisa Harding Kashmir DK. The gauge of this was a little tighter than the pattern so I’ve got a formfitted version of the sweater, I need to block it still but I’ll post some photos in the next few days once it’s done.
