New Booklet..sneak peek

For the last couple of months I’ve been working on a small pattern booklet. It all started with the Deep Waffle pattern stitch. I worked up a swatch with this stitch with an idea for a cute little cardigan. However as I was working on the swatch I began to get all sorts of other ideas as to how the stitch could be used. It is a particular pattern that looks dramatically different at different gauges and is a mixture of open work while still using twisted stitches. But best of all it is not very difficult to work. So the idea of a pattern booklet based around a stitch was born.
There will be 4 patterns in this booklet, 3 will also be released as separate patterns but the final small bonus pattern will only be available in the booklet.

The first  pattern is the blue Shawlette that uses Hedgehog Fibers wonderful ‘Cashmere Silk Worsted’ that she gave me when I visited a few months ago (she just lives a few miles from me!).

The second pattern is the pink semi-pi shawl in Artist’s Palette Yarns ‘Cloud’ (this is a fingering weight Baby Alpaca, Silk and Cashmere blend). I picked this yarn up from Artisanyarns at UK knitcamp as I couldn’t resist the softness (or the color!).

The third pattern will be a cardigan with a circular yoke using the Waffle pattern and a front panel of waffle stitch going down each side. The turquoise details shown are knit in Drops Studio ‘Safran’ (100% cotton) but I can only show you front and side details right now as this pattern is almost reknit in Blue Moon Fibers BFL. I redesigned the yoke when I had finished the first sample and it is being reknit by Sue and looks just wonderful. I should have those photos for you within a few weeks.
I hope to have this booklet released next month but before that when I have the finished photos of the cardigan I want to get you all voting for a KAL from one of the patterns and maybe put a little raffle together for you with some free booklets and yarn…so stay tuned! I’ll also be offering a discount for the first few weeks on the booklet and patterns to make it even easier for everyone to get started with the KAL.

  1. The patterns look really lovely! I especially like the cardigan and the Semi Pi Shawl. I’m looking forward to the booklet coming out!
