A week of sunshine & a giveaway!

So we’ve got a rare week of sunshine here in Ireland and it feels good!
Its making me want to knit all the summer yarns. Right up on the top of that list is linen. Linen is a fantastic fiber to wear in the summer and best of all it just improves with use.
The most recent design I did with Linen was Nouri for pom-pom quarterly. (Print & digital version here). This uses Quince & Co Kestrel which is a heavy worsted organic linen that is spun using a ribbon structure.

If you want to knit a version of Nouri for yourself I’ve got a great giveaway courtesy of Quince & Co! They will give a sweater quantity of Kestrel to the winner of the giveaway.
In the comments below just let me know what color of Kestrel (there are 17!) that you will knit your version in. Only comments on my blog will go into the raffle. I will draw a prize on the morning of the 10th of June (Irish time).
Note: If you live outside of the US you will only have to pay shipping costs, yarn costs are free.

  1. The colors are all just simply beautiful! I have not had the opportunity to try this yarn out yet but would simply love to knit up a sweater with it! If I had to choose I would like to try out the color wave.
    Thanks so much!

  2. Oh my, I can’t decide among Cove, Aegean, and Ebb Tide– so please pick my name and I will be forced to make a decision! Lovely design!

  3. I have this bookmarked along with most of your patterns. I love too many of the colors. I would narrow it down to urchin.

  4. I would love to knit this, judy like I have most of your patterns. Urchin, Aegean, or Sandy would all be perfect!

  5. This is seriously my favorite pattern in Pompom! I like to be a bit different and use anemone. How gorgeous would that be!?

  6. Anemone because there is nothing like a great Orangeto warm up my ruddy freckled skin tone :)

  7. Such pretty colors — and they render so differently on the linen. I love Sand, like a bleached terra cotta.

  8. I’d love to knit that sweater up in the Byzantium colourway! How gorgeous all the colours are. Thank you!

  9. Love the Pebble colorway that it is shown in…but could also love it in Aegean.

  10. I love knitting with linen – great for Florida weather and easy to care for! Ebb Tide is calling my name – and a ribbon yarn will be a new experience.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  11. I’m all about purple right now, so I think I’d go for Byzantium.

  12. Such a difficult choice! I would love to knit with all the colors. Since that’s not possible, I would love to knit this in Minos!

  13. It’s such a lovely pattern! I’d try to make it in byzantium.

  14. Wow! What a tough decision! So many beautiful colors. I think I would go with cove!

  15. I’d knit my version of Nouri in Aegean, and then probably live in it all summer. :-)

  16. Urchin! Such a stunning clean design and a fantastic match for this yarn :).

  17. Love the design – what inspired me to subscribe to Pompom!

I’d make a Turtle-coloured version, for year round woodland loveliness :)

    Thankyou!!

  18. It’s a tough choice, but I would knit this in Cove. Gorgeous color, pretty sweater. Thank you!

  19. I love this pattern, like I love all your patterns. I’ve never knit with linen good reason to give it a go. I like the Byzantium color.

  20. I love the side detail of Nouri, I think it’d really pop with a light coloured shirt underneath.

Urchin would be my pick, I think.

  21. That’s a hard choice but I’d choose wave. I love your beautiful designs and this is a beauty. I’ve never knit with linen before

  22. Urchin is beautiful. I love knitting linen as much as I love knitting denim. Your pattern is lovely.

  23. Urchin, that greeny blue teal works so well for our English summers. Sunny days by the blue sea punctuated, by a few, I hope rainy days to the countryside lush and green.

  24. Would love Wave to make Nouri a quintessentially summer colour! Evokes the sea on a sunny day

  25. Oh such a lovely pattern and yarn combo! We just moved to S Florida, and would love to make something in linen. I’m having a serious time in missing my wool ( and sheep!) projects and trying to get motivated again. Maybe this is a much needed inspiration project to help me get out of a knitting slump????

  26. I love this pattern but I love the whole magazine this season it’s great! I think if I had to chose a colourway it would be Minos and second up Yarrow because it’s very summery but minos would go with my wardrobe better :) Thanks for the chance :D x

  27. What a wonderful give-away! Add me to the list of people who would choose urchin. It looks like the perfect not-green, not-blue, not-grey colour that would go with almost everything (certainly everything I own).

  28. Rosehip first choice and Aegean second choice; although I must say all of the colors are lovely.

  29. I think porpoise would be perfect for a summer top. Thanks for the giveaway and a lovely design.

  30. Pebble colour way please!!
Fell in love with Nouri pattern when Pompom came out 2 weeks ago.
    And love Quince &Co yarns

  31. Such a lovely pattern and yarn! I love all the colors but Ebb Tide would be my pick. Thank you for offering the give away.

  32. As always classic and current all wrapped up in gorgeous fibre

  33. I would go for ‘senza’. Live your work and your blog! I have made the Carpino sweater and it’s my favourite ?

  34. All colours are beautiful but I would choose ebb tide. That colour is pure summer for me! Thanks for offering the give away.

  35. Yarrow is gorgeous … That would have to be my pick!
Thanks for having such a great giveaway.
