A week of sunshine & a giveaway!

So we’ve got a rare week of sunshine here in Ireland and it feels good!
Its making me want to knit all the summer yarns. Right up on the top of that list is linen. Linen is a fantastic fiber to wear in the summer and best of all it just improves with use.
The most recent design I did with Linen was Nouri for pom-pom quarterly. (Print & digital version here). This uses Quince & Co Kestrel which is a heavy worsted organic linen that is spun using a ribbon structure.

If you want to knit a version of Nouri for yourself I’ve got a great giveaway courtesy of Quince & Co! They will give a sweater quantity of Kestrel to the winner of the giveaway.
In the comments below just let me know what color of Kestrel (there are 17!) that you will knit your version in. Only comments on my blog will go into the raffle. I will draw a prize on the morning of the 10th of June (Irish time).
Note: If you live outside of the US you will only have to pay shipping costs, yarn costs are free.

  1. I’d definitely choose Ebbtide. I like the Rosehip and Minos a lot, but they are colors I can’t wear – and should I win, This. Yarn. Is. For. ME! Thanks for the giveaway from KittenWhiplash on ravelry.

  2. I liked Minos a lot although Byzantium is a close second. Nice summery design for us coastal types.

  3. Ooh, Aegean or yarrow would be my colours of choice, though I think Aegean would win out. Gorgeous pattern, as usual!

  4. Oh my goodness, I would LOVE to get my hands on this yarn. “Wave” would be my colour choice, as it looks like summer at the sea in yarn. :)

  5. Definitely Byzantium. All of the colors are lovely, but I’m a purple girl at heart.

  6. So hard to choose! My top choice today is Aegean with Byzantium as a close second.

  7. The pebble caught my eye, but the byzantine is my favorite (I have a thing for purples ;)

  8. Pebble and Byzantine are great but I love Aegean. Thats the one for me. It was the colour of the bay at Sutton earlier today.

  9. I’m absolutely in love with this pattern!!! It’s a hard choice, but I think I’ll have to go with Pebble.

  10. Wow, so many beautiful yarns. I love minos, wave, cove, ebbtide but I think bryzantium is my favorite, I think.

  11. Aegean looks great, I’d love to use it for this sweater, and I have a turquoise “thing” this summer :).

  12. I’ve never knit with kestrel, and I would love to try it with Nouri. Thanks for the opportunity!

  13. Love Kestrel and the pattern. Byzantium would be my pick for this pattern.

  14. Yarrow is gorgeous.I also like ebb tide.Enjoy the Cork sunshine.

  15. I would use the color way Minos!!! In love with this pattern and think it would be perfect for our next Disney trip for walking around the springs in the evening.

  16. OH how beautiful each colorway is I love so many but I will pick COVE.

  17. What a nice, casual sweater. If I were to win I’d choose “rosehip” or “yarrow”.

  18. I would love to knit with Senza (undyed). The colours are all beautiful but since it is organic linen I would like to try the natural colour. Thanks for this opportunity!

  19. oh so many great colors to choose from! Byzantium is one of my favorite!

  20. I LOVE this sweater, I LOVE this yarn. I must make it…and I so hope that I win the kit. Thank you, thank you for your generosity and to Quince and Co!

I really love the color selection on Kestrel, but I finally settled on Porpoise!

    Thanks!

  21. Definitely rosehip. I’ve felt a finished object in Kestrel and the drape is fantastic!

  22. I would choose Minos. A linen pullover would be perfect for summer in Arizona. Love to try new yarns.
