Irish Yarn Club 2017

July is a funny month, the days are longer and you get more time to knit but it’s hot and all I can think about right now are small quick knits. It seems like fate that Carol passed these Irish Yarn Club patterns over to me to show all of you! If you missed the Irish Yarn Club this year, fear not the patterns are now ready for individual purchase and download, so let me give you a quick rundown of what happened this year:

Chevet Hat by Carol Feller
Chevet Hat

Chevet

Chevet was the first pattern release this year and if you are looking for a beautifully textured hat then this one is for you. The cables cross slowly at first to form the striking motif pattern before working the crown decreases where the cables flow over each other to form four pairs of intertwined cables meeting at the top of the hat. This hat is designed for an aran weight yarn so you can whip this one up when you need a quick knit gift.

Daffi Shawl by carol Feller

The next pattern released was the beautiful Daffi. A stunning shawlette made of 400 yards of fingering weight yarn. I love relaxing shawl knits and Daffi is exactly that with its long tails, lace edge combined with the texture of garter stitch this one is definitely going in my queue.  I like to wear these shawls as a long scarf over a top or dressed up with a shawl pin if I need a pick me up and this pattern, in particular, is perfect for showing off that special skein of speckled yarn you have in your stash.

Egress cowl by carol Feller

Egress

I know what your thinking – we saved the best for last! The Egress cowl is designed for those mini skeins or gradient skeins you have in your stash. This is perfect for sitting back and watching those colour changes play out in front of you as you knit. This cowl is quite deep with the design allowing the colour changes to occur during the drop stitch lace pattern to ease the transition and allow a natural break between colours.

If you want to get your hands on these patterns you can nab them on either Ravelry or on StolenStitches.com and if you purchase before July 20th you can use the discount code IYC2017 for a 20% discount. I’m off to finish up some WIP’s so I can get one of these on my needles, I’m just having a problem choosing one. Which is your favourite?
