We’ll apparently I can’t go a month without a new sweater KAL! I really enjoyed doing the Mossy Way Sweater KAL with Love Knitting last year so I’m jumping in with another one this year, Wave Ripples. The sweater is knit with a yarn that I designed the colours for, The Yarn Collective Bloomsbury DK. This colour is Surf, which has more colour variations than the others. This does mean the changes in direction look really interesting!
The sweater started off with cable panels on the front and back. This cable is kind of interesting, I started with the back of the cable (which was supposed to be the front) but I really loved this side a lot more! Once the cable panels are finished you pick up stitches along the sides of the panel and work each side from side-to-side.
You can see how the bottom section of the picked up stitches is worked in the cable pattern and the upper section is in st st. At the very top of the shoulder decreases are worked to slope the shoulder and then once the sleeve is being worked the decreases continue on to become the sleeve decreases.
There are no seams at all in this sweater, the only place it is joined is along the side which is done using a 3-needle bind-off.
Just like the last time I’ll be adding brand new videos for each section of the pattern, with a step by step set of instructions for each section of the sweater. The general discussion will take place on the ravelry board here.
If you want to take part you can get Wave Ripples from Love Knitting and if you want to try the Bloomsbury DK yarn you’ll get a 15% discount code in the pattern!
Are you going to join in? (First clue is in February so you’ve time to recover after your festive knitting!!)
