SiOG STRIPES kickoff!

We are off with our latest mystery shawl knit-along. I’m impressed with the speed that knitters are working their way through the first clue!

This shawl combined Nua yarn with Fyberspates Faery Wings and uses a Double Garter Stitch background to create an amazing blending of the colours. If you look in the background of the photo below you can see how that Double Garter Stitch works. That’s as much of a clue as you’re getting though, I don’t want to give away the surprise…

From here there is a slip stitch cable worked that seems like it ‘floats’ along the top of the knitting. It’s very intuitive and falls into a technique that feels MUCH more complicated than it is!

I find mystery KALs quite difficult to run, my natural instinct is to show as many photos as possible as to share as I go along. This doesn’t really work for a mystery!

At the end of last week I did a quick live video on IG talking about the KAL as well as my Vogue Knitting Live trip!

If however you want a little sneak peek at what clue 1 looks like you can jump into the ravelry page here.

If you’d like to join us you can still find the pattern on Ravelry here and my website here. Kits can be found here.
