Sugar Pine Christmas Decorations

I love knitted holiday decorations.

But did you know they have a secret superpower?

Mini-knits teach you all the techniques of larger knits in a fraction of the time!

A mini-version of a knitted construction is a really great way to learn how all the pieces fit together. It’s got all the parts of a full size knitted piece but is knit in a jiffy! You can almost think of them as glorified swatches, or maybe construction swatches?

Mini Knitted Sweater Holiday Decoration

Last Christmas I created the first of my holiday decorations, a mini raglan sweater. If you are new to top-down, seamless raglan sweater construction, this is perfect for you. You can see how to shape the yoke, remove the sleeves and even how to add stripes.

But

it’ll only take you a few hours rather than a few months!

Plus, as a bonus, you get a fantastic decoration to hang on your tree.

Now fast forward to this year, I wanted to build on that and I’ve added a bonus of 2 extra patterns; a top-down mini-sock and a mini-hat. If you purchased the Sugar Pine Sweater pattern last year, you’ll get an update which will include both new patterns, plus a bonus link to the Teachable workshop that runs through the techniques needed for all the patterns.

Mini Knitted Sock Holiday Decoration

The mini-sock pattern is knit in the round from the top down. The top cuff has a little roll that leads into stripes. The heel construction is kept simple with a little German short row heel turn. Finally, the toe is finished with a some quick decreases.

When the sock is complete, you’ll come back to add the I-cord loop at the top to allow you to hang it easily where ever you want to. Be it garland or tree! As it’s added afterwards, you can easily make it in a contrasting colour as well.

Mini Knitted Hat Holiday Decoration

I’m just in love with this cute hat. It’s tiny but perfect.

Knit in the round from the bottom up, you will again have a rolled brim that flows into stripes. At the very top, you’ll have quick crown decreases that finish with an I-cord loop so you can hang this sweet little decoration where you want to!

Sugar Pine Kits

So do you want to knit the mini-decorations in the same yarn as we’ve used?

We’ve put together two kit options with the Kremke Soul Wool ‘Edelweiss’ yarn. This super soft yarn gives you enough to make 4 sets of decorations. You can have fun alternating the colours, and creating lots of stripe colours!

Every kit will also come with a printed pattern for all 3 decorations plus a code to access the Teachable video class for free!

We have two colour kit options available. Stock is very limited and we won’t be restocking them before the holidays this year.
