Last friday Stolen Stitches won the Cork Chamber’s Digital Marketing Award for Best in Content Creation for business under 20 people. Their words made us all a little teary as it described what all of our staff do here so perfectly. They said:
While we were finalists in four categories, content creation was the one category we really hoped we would win.
Why?
Because everything we do at Stolen Stitches we do as a team. From the stories and captions we write, the images and video we capture, edit and share to the videos that we use on YouTube and Teachable our team works collaboratively to bring all of this to life.
From the outside it can be hard to see how much work goes into everything from blog posts, newsletters, our social channels (we do have a lot) and Teachable. I’m so happy that our small team was recognised and rewarded for what they do across our digital landscape.
But it’s not just us.
If you’re reading this and you’ve shared a comment on any of our platforms, sent us a DM or hit reply to a newsletter or even dropped some thoughts into our chatbox, your voice has resonated just a deeply as any staff member at any of our meetings right through from ideation and design to when we press publish on any of our content and launches.
When Stolen Stitches was created over 16 years ago it started life with me as an independent designer sharing knitting patterns and teaching. Now, it’s grown into this vibrant global community that I couldn’t be more proud of.
Every day I share a little bit of knitting knowledge and in return you share yours, each one of us helping another to move a little further along. This is what I asked our team to bring to life on all of our platforms. This feeling of shared education, connection, and community.
Together we wanted to make space for you to create, learn and connect. Whether that’s through our free tutorials and guides, social platforms and chats, or through our exclusive clubs, KALs, and community, we wanted to not just inspire you to pick up those needles and make something new, but to have the skills and knowledge to get your chosen project to the finish line, bound-off and wearing it and to be able to share it with people who celebrate with you when you do.
So from all of us at Stolen Stitches, thank you for helping us make this idea a reality.
We hope you enjoy all the drops, clubs, and launches coming your way in 2024 and all the big reveals and changes coming down the line in 2025.
And if there is anything you would like to see from Stolen Stitches just drop a comment below and let us know!
P.S. Here are some fun images from the night. I was teaching and so I’ll leave you with Hannah, Laura, and Nadia:
This is amazing! Congratulations! I’ve been a Stolen Stitches fan/follower for my whole knitting life (almost 14 years) and I’ve noticed how your hard work in this community, education, etc just continues to grow. Thank you for all you do–I’m thrilled that your efforts are being recognized this way!!!
Thank you so much!
