Are you ready for a new chapter in cable knitting?
Each year, our Celtic Knits Club celebrates the depth and beauty of Irish design. For 2026, we’re taking that heritage one step further with a theme that not just explores Aran knitting but reimagines it.
It’s a celebration of texture, tradition, and creativity.
Here’s a look at this years club:

2026 Club Yarns
For our 2026 club you will choose your yarn as an overall bundle of either option 1 (left) and option 2 (right). Each bundle will include enough Solas, Deas, and Milis for each of their respective patterns.

We know this is the part where you spend the most time deciding which option is for you so let’s take a closer look at each of this year’s yarns:

Solas – Instalment 1
This yarn is made up of 93% Merino, 3.5% Cashmere and 3.5% Silk with a whopping 222 m / 243 yards per 100g.
This is perfect for small cables and textures and Carol Feller will be the designer for this instalment. The finer nature of this yarn allows for delicate cables that show more detail. This is particularly suited for working with more historical cable stitch patterns that are not as big and dramatic as more modern cables. They had a greater focus on smaller more delicate details and diamond shapes feature frequently. Big bold cables evolved over the years but the beginning was more subtle and textured.
The first instalment patterns will build on this textured beginning, creating delicate, refined cables that build a beautiful textured fabric.
Option 1 has Solas in Ban (white) and option 2 has Solas in Tine (orange)

Blasta – Instalment 2
Blasta was the first yarn designed for our Celtic Knits Club and it has really made a name for itself. Made up of 60% Fine Irish Wool, 40% New Zealand Wool with 212 m / 232 yards per 100g, this yarn packs a punch when it comes to stitch definition.
This instalment will be designed by Eimear Earley.
Option 1 has Blasta in Ailm (Teal) and option 2 has Blasta in Bark (Brown)

Milis – Instalment 3
And let us introduce you to this year’s new yarn Milis.
With 58% Irish wool, 30% alpaca and 12% merino burrs, this yarn is the perfect balance between softness (thank you alpaca) and glorious Irish rustic-ness.
This yarn has been spun for us exclusively in Donegal, and has their signature tweedy burrs. At 225 m / 245 yards per 100g, this yarn is a DK weight, perfect for cables. We think you will fall in love with it just as we have.
You’ll be working either a wrap designed by Eimear Earley or a garment designed by Carol Feller depending on your club choice below. Don’t worry you will receive both patterns regardless of your yarn option.
Option 1 has Milis in Gloaming (purple) and option 2 has Milis in Fern (green)

What our Club Members are Saying:
One of the great things about our knitting clubs is that we get to speak with all of our members about why they joined, what they love most and what they might like to add for the next year. So here are a few of our 2025 club favourites:
I learned many new techniques and have enjoyed all patterns. The video tutorials, review the knitting patterns and answer many questions. Zoom videos add extra goodness. Still working on Bere sweater. Blasta yarn has it all; yummy colours, beautiful hand feel and perfect stitch definition. So soft and delightful next to skin. Looking forward to next year already.

The Celtic Club keeps on getting better. I’ve been a member since its onset five years ago and the 2025 designs are the most inspiring, exciting and challenging. The additions of more Deas and Blasta colorways enhance the patterns even more. Thank you, Carol, Eimear, Laura and the SS team for everything you do!
