Create slip knot and place on needle.
With left thumb lift working yarn from back, twist, and sit backwards loop on needle placing index finger inside.
Use thumb to bring yarn from front to back over needle and use index finger to lift first loop over yarn just put on needle.
Pull yarn to tighten.
Take care to keep stitches close together as it will be difficult to tighten up the stitches otherwise.
Here’s a video showing it in action.

This is too fast! I can hardly see how you flip the yarn – have tried over and over. Please slow down and show stages more clearly!
There is also the photo tutorial which should be of help?
Peggy, you can also use the speed function on Youtube videos (click the cog symbol in the lower righthand corner) to slow the video down to your preferred speed. Hope that helps!
Carol, this is an interesting cast on! I’ve never seen it before. Will definitely have to try it out.
