Huevos Workshop & KAL

Welcome to a summer of lace. That’s right, we have a brand new workshop for you, and this time we are celebrating lace knitting.

Haven’t knit lace before? That’s what our workshop is for. So let’s dive into all the information that you need to know:

Huevos Tank in Coral Yarn.

Introducing the Huevos Tank

The Huevos tank top has got quite a bit of techniques going on, making it a great way to learn new techniques. If you’re an experienced knitter, you can dive straight in with just the pattern but if you’re newer to lace and lace decreases you can find help with the video workshop. When you’re finished you should have a wonderful top to wear as well as lots of new skills under your belt!

To make this a more enjoyable process I thought I’d launch the kits and workshop as a KAL. That way we’ll all be knitting along together and can support each other through the journey. We will have our official cast-on date on August 2nd.

Huevos back lace in Coral Cotton.

About The Pattern

For those eagle-eyed knitters among you, yes, this is a relaunch of an older pattern. I’ve spent the last month updating the pattern writing style along with recording a whole host of step-by-step video tutorials. However, the basics are the same as for the original pattern.

It’s knit in the round from the bottom up, with side garter panels and a central lace panel on both the front and the back. It’s got an a-line shaping that’s created with decreases on each side of the lace panel.

When you reach the upper body you will divide for the front and the back. On both you will work armhole decreases and at the top also work short rows to gently curve each side of the top. The front divides in two to create a flattering neckline shaping.

And if you’re wondering how you keep track of your lace knitting:

The workshop shows you how to keep track of decreases in lace and also how to incorporate short rows into the upper body lace pattern. If these techniques are new to you I’d suggest signing up for the workshop so that you’ll have full video guidance.
