Over the last few months I’ve been dropping hints about a book that I’m working on. This will be a self-published book that I’lm printing myself and it’ll be called ‘Among Stones’. This book has a lot of my favorite things, simple, very wearable knits that have a unique edge to them. Plus the photography was done close to where I live using some of my favorite walks and parks as the backdrop.
I hope you’ll all love this collection as much as I loved creating it.
Publishing a book is always a really big undertaking in both time and money but it is so satisfying when it all comes together. It is currently being printed (really, really excited to see it!) and I’ll be bringing some preview copies with me to TNNA (a trade show at the end of June) in a few weeks time. If you’re from a yarn shop come check it out at booth 148 with Deep South Fibers. I’ll be there with all the samples for you to touch and feel. If you know your LYS is going to be at the show tell them to place their order for the book! I want to get it into shops by July and then I’ll put it up for general release in August.
Here’s a little closer look at the cover cardigan, Dacite….
Yay for self publishing. Congratulations. Love the cover pic. And the cardigan too of course ;-)
This 1st cardi looks amazing… Can’t wait for the whole book !

I’m a great fan of your designs and can’t wait for the release of your new book.
What a wonderful idea to publish a book. How can I order this book. Live in India and have already down loaded your sweater inshore rows and would love to order this book when it is out.
Book looks fantastic Carol! Beautiful cardigan on cover. Can’t wait until its released to general public!
Once the book is released I’ll send a newsletter update with a link to order.
Can’t wait to see the collection at TNNA!
Carole: I have learned so much from you and absolutely love your designs. I’ve knitted Celtic Cables and Killybegs and they are beautiful. Killybegs is with someone who will block it for me. I usually do my own blocking but cannot right because of extensive back surgery. I used Rowan Black Stone Tweed for Killybegs and it is absolutely gorgeous! May just have to purchase your new book! I also knitted the watch cap for my niece in Northern California in Malabrigo. It’s beautfil.

Carol, I am so excited about this. I like your patterns and this will come out just in time to start my fall-sweater-knitting. I’m hoping for a KAL.
I love your patterns, I just finished the Celtic Cable cardigan for my daughter. It turned out great! Now I want to make one for myself. Can’t wait for your new book.
I want to knit Dacite immediately. I truly feel I can’t wait for the book. I would preorder it if I could. Looks like a perfect piece of work! Thanks for the heads up!
I want the book yesterday. When ever I wear “Killybegs” the compliments are non stop. Right now I helping my cousin make “Listowel” for her granddaughter. My family is original from Listowel.
